Patrick Edward Phillips studied at the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting under Ernest Jackson, Glyn Philpot and Charles Shannon, 1926-30. He later became Principal of the Byam Shaw, 1946-55. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, New English Art Club and elsewhere. A talented portrait painter, many of his paintings are in public collections including the Tate Gallery.
