Veronica Burleigh was born in Hove, Sussex, the daughter of the artists Charles and Averil Burleigh. She studied at the Slade and exhibited at the Royal Academy, Society of Women Artists and elsewhere. During the World War II she served in the Women’s Auxiliary Art Force. A great traveller she visited Greece, Italy and Croatia and for 20 years made almost annual visits to Rhodesia where she held 23 one-man shows.
