Keith Henderson was educated at Marlborough College and studied art as the Slade and in Paris, where he shared a studio with Maxwell Armfield and Norman Wilkinson of Four Oaks. Initially Henderson worked principally as a portrait painter moving on to illustration and commercial work. During World War I he served on the Western Front. After the war he travelled widely, including to Africa and South America, the local plants and wildlife would continue to feature largely in his work. In World War II he served as an Official War Artist attached to the Royal Air Force.
Henderson worked in oil and watercolours, designed murals and posters, produced advertising work and wrote and illustrated several books. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Fine Art Society, Royal Watercolour Society and elsewhere. Examples of his work are held in many public collections including those in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Preston and Worthing. He died in South Africa in 1982.
The Col des Aravis is a mountain pass in the France Alps. It connects the towns of La Clausaz with La Giettaz. At 1487 meters it is the lowest pass in the Aravis range of mountains.
