CYRIL SAUNDERS SPACKMAN (1887-1963)

Signed Watercolour, unframed
35 by 36 cm., 13 by 14 in.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, he studied at King’s College architectural department in London and was a pupil of the architect T E Lidiard James. Spackman was a member of many artistic and architectural bodies, including the RBA, RMS and SGA. He settled in the Croydon area of Surrey in the early 1920s where he was a member of the Camera Club and a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and elsewhere. The print room of the British Museum holds his work.
