Hampstead High Street
Mary Hill was a miniature and watercolour painter and is known for her pictures recording the streets and buildings of Hampstead where she lived. She wrote and illustrated Hampstead in Light and Shade (pub.1938) in which she told personal anecdotes of the Hampstead she had known with accounts of some of the famous men and women who had lived there. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and elsewhere and is represented in the collection of the Museum of London.
