In the Shade, Salou
In the Shade, Salou
Andrew Macara was born in Ashbourne, Derbyshire in 1944. He studied for a time with Leonard Fuller at the St Ives School of Paintings but considers himself to be a largely self-taught artist. He first showed at the Royal Academy in 1977 and there after has been a regular exhibitor there, at the New English Art Club and elsewhere. He has had numerous one-man shows in London and other UK galleries. He still lives in Derbyshire and travels widely to find inspiration for his work, including to India, France, Spain and the Greek Islands. Throughout his career the effects of light have been always fascinated him and feature prominently in his paintings.
