Brenda King was born in Cumbria and studied at Lancaster College of Art and the Royal College of Art. In the mid 1970s she and her husband, the artist Jeremy King, moved to West Cornwall where her naïve style was typical of a group of artists working in that area in the mid to late 20th Century. She exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions.
