John James Griffith Blundell was born in Lewisham. For a time he studied in the life classes of the Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, winning the Coleman Prize for the Best Watercolour with the present drawing in 1974. He married in 1962 and lived in Orpington, Kent. He exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London.
