Jonathan Grimble collection, Cornwall.
Symonds was born in Swindon and studied at The Regent Street Polytechnic, London. In 1960 he settled in Cornwall, eventually living in Newlyn. He was a member of the Penwith Society of Artists and the Newlyn and St Ives Society of Artists. He also showed on the Continent and USA. A solo exhibition was held at Penwith Galleries, St Ives in 2002.
