Summer Day
Joseph Pierce McCrum was born in Walsall in the West Midlands, the son of an Irish born Presbyterian minister. The family moved to South Shields when Joseph was still young and he was educated there before entering the Royal College of at in the early He studied art and design and exhibited a number of stunning and highly decorative lacquer panels with the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He also wrote on contemporary furniture and toy design. He was lived in North London and latterly in Somerset.
