An early work by an artist who became better known as an illustrator, graphic designer and commercial artist. During his very busy design career he also carried a 10 year professorship at the Royal College of Art. Much loved and admired by his contemporaries in the seventies and eighties, he was given the British Design and Art Direction President’s Award in 1993 in recognition of a lifetime’s contribution to British Design. He is represented in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York
