Ernest Yarrow Jones was born in Liverpool and qualified as a barrister before decided to pursue art as a career. He studied at Westminster School of Art and Royal College of Art and in Paris at Academie Julian and Atelier Colarossi. He travelled widely and latterly lived in Exmouth, Devon. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Leicester Galleries, the Paris Salons and elsewhere.
