Frank Chesworth
1868 - 1906
Francis (Frank) John Chesworth was born in West Derby, Liverpool. By 1891 he was working as an artist and living with his brother in Camberwell, London. He produced illustrations, cartoons and caricatures for a number of magazines and journals including The Sketch, The Pall Mall Magazine and Black and White. He seems to have been particularly fond of theatrical themes, producing a series entitle “Curtains Caricatured” for The Sketch in 1905. Chesworth had a tragic and untimely death at the age of 38, cutting his own throat with a razor whilst in a state of unsound mind.
