Freda Mabel Rose is best known for her charming postcards and illustrations of children and seaside subjects which were reproduced in great numbers in the 1930s. She also produced illustration for a number of comics and a book of Nursery Rhymes for Chapel Books. In 1937 she married Gordon Baker and she seems to have stopped the production of cards. After her marriage she kept Beechwood Kennels in Godstone, Surrey but continued some of her commercial art work.
