Sidney Bertram Robertson-Rodger was born in Surrey, he was educated at Malvern College before attending the Byam Shaw School of Art, 1934-1938. In 1939 he entered war service as a Camouflage Officer before training at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in 1940. During World War II his Bombers Escorted by Fighters on a Daylight Sweep over the Channel was purchased by the War Artists’ Advisory Committee and is now in the collection of the Ministry of Defence. He exhibited at the Federation of British Artist, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Westbourne Park sidings are on the approach to Paddington Station, London.
