Walter John Beauvais was born in Windsor, Berkshire, the grandson of the French artist and lithographer Charles Henri Beauvais (1862-1909) and son of the artist Arnold Beauvais (1886-1984). He studied under his father and spent several years traveling in Europe. In 1973 he settled in the south of England. He exhibited widely in Britain and abroad. Parc Borely is a public municipal park in the city of Marseille, France.
