Farmers Union Garden Party
Jessie Pym studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and in Paris. She was fond of agricultural and equestrian subjects, notably based on the South Downs. She showed at the Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and Society of Women Artists. She lived at Selmeston, Sussex. Southover Grange Gardens is in Lewes, Sussex. The borough of Lewes purchased Southover Gardens from Harrie Stacey, a local farmer and landowner, in 1944. During World War II April 30th fell on a Wednesday in 1941.
