Mary Caroline Halhed Stevens
1881 - 1962
United Kingdom Mary Caroline Halhed Stevens was born on 22 February 1881 in Southport, Lancashire. In about 1900 her family moved to Oxford where he father was appointed General Inspector of the Local Government Board. Caroline Stevens studied at the St John's Wood School of Art and returned to Oxfordshire where she maintained a studio in the city at 7 St Aldates and became a regular and frequent exhibitor with the Oxford Art Society, being elected a member of the society in 1913. She lived in Eynsham and later at Great Milton, Oxfordshire.
