1903 - 1967
Alison Debenham was the daughter of Sir Ernest Debenham of the department store. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in the early 1920s and then spent some time in Paris and the South of France where she studied with Simon Bussy. She married the artist Rene Leplat in 1930 and they held a joint exhibition at Galerie Vignon, Paris in 1932. She went on to regularly exhibit in London and Paris, holding her first one man show in London in 1935 at the Zwemmer Galley, London. She was associated with the Euston Road School of Artists.
