Amy Katherine Browning (nee Dugdale) was born in the Luton, Bedfordshire. She entered the Royal College of Art in 1899 where she studied under Gerald Moira. She became a friend of Sylvia Pankhurst and together they created an art exhibition for the Women’s Social and Political Union in 1909. She also provided illustrations for the Suffragist newspaper Dreadnaught. A British Impressionist artist, she painted, portraits and interiors, exhibiting regularly at the Fine Art Society, Royal Academy and Paris Salon. She is represented in many public collections.
