Raymond Booth studied at Leeds College of Art 1946-48 and 1950-52, having taken a break for National Service. A painter of closely observed botanical works he first submitted pictures for exhibition at the Royal Horticultural Society and at Walker’s Gallery, Bond Street before he held his first of several solo shows at the Fine Art Society in 1962. A retrospective exhibition was held in 2002 and a memorial exhibition was held at the Fine Art Society in 2015. He has illustrated several books including The Camellia (1956 & 1962) and Japonica Magnifica (1992).
