United KingdomLouis Fairfax Muckley was born in Worcestershire and studied at Birmingham School of Art. As a painter of genre and Symbolist works he exhibited at the Royal Academy and elsewhere. As a member of the Arts and Crafts movement he became involved in illuminating manuscripts, illustrations for books and magazines and bookbinding. He lived in Stourbridge.
