Henry Silkstone Hopwood
1860 - 1914
Leicestershire Henry Silkstone Hopwood was originally from Tunisia but studied in Europe, firstly at the Manchester School of Art and subsequently in Paris under William Bouguereau at the Academie Julian, and finally in Antwerp. He was a painter mainly of contemporary genre scenes and landscapes and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1893-1902.
